Illumina

A workplace inspired by discovery, collaboration and the fluid nature of scientific thinking. Located at Embassy Business Park, the workplace for Illumina, a global leader in genomics and DNA analysis, was designed to reflect the progressive and collaborative spirit of the organisation. The design takes cues from the world of science—dynamic, interconnected and constantly evolving.

The planning follows a free-flowing approach, moving away from the conventional corporate workplace. Instead of a formal reception, the entrance opens into a vibrant cafeteria, creating an informal and welcoming first impression while encouraging interaction from the moment one enters the space.

The workplace is organised around openness, movement and collaboration, with spaces flowing naturally into one another rather than being defined by rigid boundaries. Informal meeting areas, collaborative zones and workspaces are woven together to create a flexible environment that supports different ways of working. The result is a workplace that feels contemporary and human, while subtly reflecting Illumina’s culture of innovation, exploration and discovery.
